Dr Bruce Symonds

Bruce Symonds graduated in Medicine from Sydney University in 1943 and joined the Army in 1944 as a Medical Officer in the Australian Commando Regiment/ 2/4 Squadron.

He was at 102nd AGH Australian General Headquarters at Hollandia for 2 months in 1944.

He was also in Tarakan and about to go to Sandakan when word came through that the camp there had been evacuated and the prisoners marched away, with most of them dying.
